March 4, 2024

To the members of Local 26,

Local 26 does not typically endorse presidential candidates. Instead, these endorsements are made by our International Union. Last June, the International endorsed Joe Biden. President Biden has been the most pro-union president in history. He walked the picket line with the UAW, has made it easier to join a union, and has prioritized the creation of good, union jobs.

However, I believe President Biden needs to do more to end the conflict in the Middle East. The continuing assault on Gaza by the Israeli Defense Forces has created a grave humanitarian and moral crisis. It is imperative for our President to use all powers to achieve a lasting ceasefire.

For these reasons, I will be voting "no preference" in Tuesday's primary and am asking the members of Local 26 to consider doing the same.

We are a Local of immigrants from around the world. We believe in peace, solidarity, and justice. I believe we need to live those values every day.

In Solidarity

Carlos Aramayo

President
